In response to calls from the defense, a military judge has ordered US Army prosecutors to detail their effort to obtain and share evidence they collected in the case of Bradley Manning, the man suspected of leaking classified files to WikiLeaks.
Monday’s ruling by Col. Denise Lind is a partial victory for Manning’s defense team, which said prosecutors failed to duly share evidence they plan to present in the military trial. Of particular interest to defense lawyer David Coombs were written assessments by governmental agencies of the damage the leak allegedly caused. Manning is charged with hurting America’s national security and assisting its enemies by sending classified materials to WikiLeaks, a charge his defense challenges. Coombs says the dragging of feet over evidence-sharing affects the suspect’s right to a fair trial.
Military prosecutor Army Maj. Ashden Fein insists that his team acts in line with its duty while collecting evidence and sharing it with the defense. He said the process was time consuming due to the large number of government agencies it involves.
Yet the judge told prosecutors to draft a “due diligence statement,” detailing their work over the two years since Manning was charged. She set the deadline for July 25, but indicated that it may be pushed back if necessary.
Bradley Manning, 24, is facing 22 charges over his actions in 2009 and 2010, when he served as an intelligence analyst at a Baghdad base. He faces possible life imprisonment over the alleged crimes.

BRAVO MANNING!!!
Manning did not obey orders that were contrary to his conscience – a quality our government has long since abdicated. The government had no real knowledge of harm that was actually done, except to expose their arrogant plans to keep everyone in the absolute dark while nefariously plundering the whole world, murdering and torturing all the way. No bully, or psychopath wants to be exposed. It means the end of their reign of power. The ones in treason are the ones who were exposed, not the one who brought the information to light. They kept Manning in solitary and tortured him while hoping to break him or find evidence that they could legitimately use against him in a court of law. That’s why they are still dragging their feet.
As far as BA’s comments: a law or rule that is against natural law is not a real law and has no validity in spirit. When criminals usurp the process of making laws so that the illegal things they do are made legal those are not laws. The reign of terror created by these Mafiosi posing as a legitimate government is coming to its end. And for that we are grateful.
Thanks, Roberto, I don’t know what I’d do without the help of so many good people who have a larger understanding of things than I do. Hugs, ~Jean

Let’s make no mistake, regardless of the benefit you might think came from Bradley Manning’s actions he is a criminal. His actions involved more than just the U.S. he caused damages to a lot of other countries many of which are the friends to the U.S. His actions caused irreparable harm to many individuals around the world as well. Because you weren’t directly harmed by his actions doesn’t mean others weren’t.
It was Bradley Manning’s place to “out” the government. It was yours and mine and every other citizen of this country. If we don’t like the lack of transparency of our government it is our responsibility and our right to do whatever it takes to change that. It is not the place of some clerk in the military to violate his oath, the conditions he agreed to when he was issued his clearance, and the rules and regulations of the military to release information indiscriminately that could cause international consequences.
Although the information he had access to was low level enough not to have serious damage, what if he had released and information had gotten published that could have led to armed conflict between various factions in the world? I cannot call him a hero nor patriot as it was only by Divine unfolding that his actions were as limited as possible. I send him Love and Light for playing his role but that does not mean that his actions should be condoned.
He is charged with 22 counts even if the military has drug its feet in turning over certain evidence gathered it will not do away with but a few of the charges. Additionally, in criminal cases certain discovery, or evidence gathered by the prosecution, under the Brady ruling by the Supreme Court doesn’t have to be turned over to the defense until immediately before the trial. Once the requested report is completed for the judge in this case then she will have to rule whether the material is Brady material. If so, then there is nothing the defense can do about forcing its disclosure until it due to be turned over.
Look at this way, would you be saying that a person who robbed a liquor store or bank at gun point should be given a pass simply because he didn’t shoot someone? Being in the Light and operating from a place of Love doesn’t mean that you accept whatever actions around may take. It means that you have risen to the point where you can send them Light to help them through the completion of their role in the unfolding and Love for them being another great consciousness and in gratitude for them having played their role. As long as we are struggling through the transistion we cannot allow disorder to gain mastery of society. Granting immunity for acts that can lead to greater consequences is not the appropriate path into the Golden Age.
BA, I disagree with you on this. OUr government is the cause of the problem, because what they are about in the world today is ‘empire, and our government at the very least is dishonest and without integrity. It is becoming obvious how they had to work to build a case against Manning, to the point of apparently withholding evidence from the defense.
They may have the laws on the books to prosecute Manning, but I happen to think those laws are on the books to protect their devious, sick, clandestine ways. My point is, if our government were doing what is ‘right’ and moral, we wouldn’t need those laws. Those laws aren’t really to protect us; instead, they are to protect the criminals who break their oaths of office, day in and day out.
My opinion, only!
Hugs,

Bradley Manning is a true patriot, and should be sent lots of love and light for exposing truth about what affects all of us. PAST Military industrial complex “classifications” that make this weighted division of government “look bad” in the eyes of many “living people”! If a trusted government department has done these things, then what else have they done or covered up without the knowledge or against the will of the living people? It begs questions.
