LONDON—U.S. and British authorities are preparing to bring criminal charges against former employees of Barclays PLC for their alleged roles trying to manipulate benchmark interest rates, according to people familiar with the plans, marking an escalation of a global investigation now entering its sixth year.
The charges are likely to be filed this summer, these people said, roughly a year after the big British bank became the first institution to settle over allegations that it attempted to rig the London interbank offered rate, or Libor, and other widely used financial benchmarks. The people cautioned that the plans aren’t finalized and could be delayed or modified.
The planned criminal cases indicate that government investigations into Libor manipulation, which have been under way since 2008 and until now have targeted mostly institutions rather than individuals, are moving into a new phase. So far, U.S. authorities have filed charges against two individuals. British prosecutors haven’t charged anyone. Units of two banks—UBS and Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC—pleaded guilty to U.S. criminal charges as part of rate-manipulation settlements.
It isn’t clear which former Barclays employees are likely to face charges, or what the charges would be. A Barclays spokesman declined to comment.

Rogue President Obama: Defending the Indefensible

100 Forked tongue rhetoric can’t disguise it. Throughout Obama’s tenure, he has governed lawlessly. He’s done so at home and abroad. He spurns rule of law principles and other democratic values.
Nothing suggests change. Business as usual continues. War on humanity is policy. Rogue leaders govern that way. Obama threatens everyone.
On May 23, he spoke at Washington’s National Defense University. He defended what he urged changing four years earlier.
On May 21, 2009, he spoke at the National Archives. He addressed national security. He said America can’t be safe “unless we enlist the power of our most fundamental values.”
“The documents that we hold in this very hall – the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights – these are not simply words written into aging parchment.”
“They are the foundation of liberty and justice in this country, and a light that shines for all who seek freedom, fairness, equality, and dignity around the world.”
“(O)ur government made a series of hasty decisions.”
“(O)ur government trimmed facts and evidence to fit ideological predispositions.”
“(W)e set (aside fundamental) principles as luxuries that we could no longer afford.”
“In other words, we went off course. (Americans) called for a new approach – one that rejected torture and one that recognized the imperative of closing the prison at Guantanamo Bay.”
We must act, he said, “with an abiding confidence in the rule of law and due process; in checks and balances and accountability.”
“(D)ecisions that were made over the last eight years established an ad hoc legal approach.”
He called doing so “neither effective nor sustainable.”
He pledged change. He said he took steps to prohibit torture. He ordered Guantanamo closed, he claimed.
He made other high-minded promises. He “swore an oath to uphold the Constitution,” he said. He systematically spurned it. He did so across the board. He represents the worst of rogue leadership.
His Thursday address reflected same old, same old. It was beginning-to-end demagogic boilerplate. We’ve heard it throughout his tenure. He repeats it ad nauseam.
Promises made are broken. Defending the indefensible doesn’t wash. CODEPINK Women for Peace co-founder Medea Benjamin challenged him.
She interrupted his speech. She did so several times. She called on him to close Guantanamo, release cleared detainees, and stop killer drone attacks.
“Will you apologize for the thousands of Muslims that you killed,” she asked? “Will you compensate the families of innocent victims?”
“Can you tell the Muslims that their lives are as precious as our lives?”
“Can you take the drones out of the hands of the CIA?”
“Can you stop (drone) strikes that are killing people on the basis of suspicious activity?”
“You are commander in chief! You can close Guantanamo today! You can release” all cleared detainees.
“It’s been 11 years. Abide by the rule of law. You’re a constitutional lawyer.”
Speaking truth to power has a price. Benjamin was forcibly removed. She was detained. She was interrogated by Secret Service, military and FBI personnel. She was then released.
Asked why she challenged Obama, she said:
“We have been so disappointed with Obama. We expected him to to make serious changes like taking drones out of the hands of the CIA, stopping the signature strikes, apologizing to innocents who have been killed, families of the innocent, and announcing that he, as Commander-in-Chief, would close Guantanamo, so when he did not I felt compelled to speak out.”
Obama defended drone strikes. He did so disingenuously. Extrajudicial killing is lawless. Weasel words fell short of explaining his failure to close Guantanamo. What he said didn’t wash.
He lied. He blamed Congress for his own transgression. He bears full responsibility. He can close Guantanamo today. He can do so with a stroke of his pen.
As president and commander in chief, he’s fully authorized to do so. Congress has no say. He can order all uncharged prisoners released. Indefinite detention is lawless.
He claimed a nonexistent terror threat. The only ones are those he and complicit allies invent. They’ve done so throughout his tenure. They continued what Bush officials began.
In 2009, Obama promised change. He spurned what he pledged to uphold. He did what core supporters thought impossible. He exceeded the worst of his predecessor.
He turned truth on its head. He claimed extrajudicial murder is legal. On 9/11, America was attacked, he said. Doing so was state-sponsored terrorism. Bin Laden and Al Qaeda were wrongfully blamed.
Days later Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF) was introduced. Congress passed it near unanimously. Bush signed it into law. America’s “war on terror” began.
Police state laws were enacted. Multiple direct and proxy wars were launched. They’re lawless. They target humanity. They remain ongoing. Obama continues what he promised to stop.
Rule of law principles don’t matter. Diktat authority is policy. Obama’s weasel words belie his actions. His promises aren’t worth the paper they’re written on. He broke every major one made.
Nothing ahead suggests change. Straightaway in office he promised Guantanamo closure. Nothing whatever’s been done to do so.
Innocent victims remain imprisoned. Indefinite detention is policy. So are lawless military commissions. America maintains a global gulag. Extraordinary renditions fill it. Torture continues.
Drone killing is prioritized. More of the same is planned. No one’s secure anywhere. US citizens are vulnerable. Summary judgment is policy. Attacks can occur anywhere. US soil is unsafe. There’s no place to hide.
Secrecy prevents public disclosure. Promised transparency’s nonexistent. What’s most important continues out of sight and mind. Media scoundrels suppress what demands highlighting.
Obama reflects the worst of rogue leadership. War on terror policy continues. It does so when no threat exists. It’s lawless and unconscionable.
Obama’s heading America for full-blown tyranny and ruin. He threatens humanity. Doublespeak duplicity reflects it. His speech didn’t surprise. Same old, same old remains policy. Nothing he said suggests otherwise.
Following his address, the Center for Constitutional Rights responded as follows:
“(U)nless (Obama) takes immediate steps to resume transfers and ultimately close (Guantanamo), his administration will not escape the ‘harsh judgment’ of history.”
Lifting the ban on Yemeni transfers fell short. So far it’s rhetoric, not policy. “(W)e are disappointed by (Obama’s) comment that cleared men will only be released ‘to the greatest extent possible.’ ”
Obama’s “equivocation is troubling. After eleven years of detention without charge or trial, all of the men President Obama does not intend to give fair trials should be released and reunited with their families.”
“Anything short of that threatens to worsen a potentially deadly crisis unfolding at Guantanamo.”
Targeted drone strikes remain policy. Reasserting the right is “legally flawed and dangerous.”
“Whether or not the United States can use lethal force under the laws of war is not a matter of policy preference – it is a matter of law and facts.
Continuing current policy in any forms “sets a dangerous precedent for future administrations and other countries.”
Hundreds of activists endorsed a New York Times ad. It called on Obama to “Close Guantanamo Now” and “stop the torture.”
“Presidents cannot be allowed to arrogate to themselves the power of judge, jury and executioner.”
“Fundamental civil liberties have been eviscerated.”
“It is up to the people to stand up for principle and morality when their institutions and public officials refuse to do so.”
“End the War Crimes and Violations of Fundamental Rights!”
Nothing Obama said suggests change. Business as usual remains policy. War on humanity continues. No end in sight appears likely.
New world order harshness threatens everyone. It’s a clear and present danger. It’s much too great to ignore.

I would love to hear your thoughts about bitcoin. It’s a technology that can force central banking out of business. It is the exact opposite of fiat and fractional reserve. People are always asking what they can “do” to help the change. How about getting out of the dollar and into bitcoin, at least with some of our personal money. Bitcoin is banking without banks and without bankers.

I did a quick scan to see if there was a post about this but did not find anything. A while ago I mentioned a move by ordinary south african citizens to put a stop to banks foreclosing on their homes. Since then the case has gone through all the normal bumps but I do believe it is reaching climax. I have to agree with the sentiment of the founder and team who are amazed at the support and effort by everyone involved. I myself have watched some of these remarkable people come together to discuss topics that are considered out of scope for some. South Africa is often considered removed in some ways from the global picture however we are intrinsically intertwined in other ways particularly in the fields of resources, land and finance. If this case is successful it will have lasting positive repercussions to the global picture as we could very well have something similar that happened in iceland. The case essentially wishes to bring transparency to our banks. This interdict will prevent banks from taking homes as the loans were securitized. Securitization is essentially a loan given to an “individual” which is then later sold to other parties, unbeknownst to the lender. A slew of legal people at Newera are adamant that when this happen the banks lose the legal right to ask for repayments. They made front page news in one of our mainstream newspapers after they attempted to file on 21’st December. Last year one of the chief participants house was broken into in what seems to be a surgical strike that targeted all info relating to the case. The robbers tied Raymond up while they rummaged through his house. He was rather traumatized for a while afterwards but still going strong. Security Cameras captured it all and the video was posted to youtube. There was even speculation that our very own police force was involved in the sting! The case seems to be finally going forward with a seemingly sympathetic judge and with little opposition from the banks and they are aiming to bring the matter to its conclusion later this month. I am sure this could get rather technical to understand but I believe the cause to be just which is why I joined as a member when I heard of it back then. A fellow South African Michael Tellinger who recently founded the ubuntu political party, who I am sure you know of reports on progress regularly on the party’s website. I hope you find this as exciting as I do and look forward to see what will happen.

NEWERA CASE UPDATE: The Judge has granted NewERA leave to amend our papers. We will re-file amended documents and hopefully the banks will FINALLY be required to answer our allegations. A cost order (although limited) was granted against us which we will most likely appeal.

Just thought I’d point you to this fellow David Hudson and his discovery of ORMES. Amazing story I came across researching alternative health for my mothers condition. This guy is a John Birch cotton farmer from AZ that had issues with material on one of his properties.

I can’t find his present status, but there is something here that some of your readers are aware of and that others might find interesting.
This is pretty remarkable, and bodes well for the beginning of the crossover from alternative news (revelationnow.net) to public officials – awesome that there’s acknowledgment:

Now that I´m still deeply involved with working on different books, translation work and studying ancient apokrypha and pseudepigrapha, I went through a manyfold experience – first, I saw the last 6 month fading away as if they were days, and second, my self-chosen imprisonment in my library prevented me from getting sucked out by media and rubbish going on each day. I have a feeling like being in a time capsule, something of such kind. And I want to tell you in a short manner of my impressions and feelings I recently share.
I don`t know where this comes from (surely not from any attribute I could call my own), but I feel a constant and strong presence of God or the Divine which I am given to experience. On the other hand I have not seen any shift off 3d to 4d or beyond, it seems to me as if I can see the beauty of 3d more clearly than ever before. 3 is a human number, and being human in all regards is both, limitation and beauty, fragility and vessel of divine treasures. God must have a smile on his face when he puts himself in human categories including blood, swest and tears. Duality or polarity is the underground creating waves of uttmost beauty and deepest despair, and in both love finds reason to thrive and glow and feel her own anger. It is the fate of humans to grow in such love, to fight with her and to get overthrown, only to make the experience that difficult love is only another mask of easy love, and all is one and in difference together. Nicolaus of Cusa, a medieval thinker, called such divine epiphany once coincidentia oppositurum, coincidence of the opposite. The key is human`s lack of perception of singular appearances – we only experience the opposite by opposition while failing to bring it together.
Actually there is no need for us humans to bring anyrhing together, for it is the fate of any ontological emergence to be part of the One-and-All – it is always together even without any human perception. And it comes to humans not by perception, but rather by – we have hardly words to describe – intuition or inner knowing. It is a love emanation, love in her many forms and expressions. You simply love the unseen, the hidden beauty, the Sun in the night, et lux in tenebris lucet, and light shines in the darkness. You simply know without being able to give evidences. This way duality is only a frontier to exceed, and exceeding is a process of loving. Thus love is frontier and exceeding. The sign of all Oneness and Allness is love exceeding whatever… Nonetheless, such love remains small and tiny, for love is humble and silent…
The dilemma of human participation in this wave process Ψ is his essential envolvement in time T making life L a time derivation, mathematically L= ∂Ψ/∂T. Thus humans are exposed to time by letting life run as process. Time is a processual connotation preventing clear views into the One-and-All. Without such prevention life would hardly thrive – it would not go through separation, conflict and sadness, but choose to be a cowardly couch potatoe. It would finally wither…
So we have all come a long way and made it through 12/21/12. Many have told nonsense and ridiculous words. Others have proclaimed more technical stuff believing to smooth a bit the wave process. And others were diligent in proclaiming special rituals – they forgot the violence behind such procedure, for violent are all those who believe to force a process they see ready to flow. Yet, it is different – the process knows itself when time has come to flow. The history of religion is full of violent non-acceptance, and this is maybe another great human mystery. Non-acceptance has often pushed humans to exceed and transcend limits. This is another case of having both together: curse and blessing, ligt and darkness, freedom and restriction.
Anyway, we made it through the year. And we hold on loving and accepting that we are part of the differential equation L. And nothing can prevent us even from failing and going blind. Yes, nothing can prevent us from freedom, for this is freedom: you can also fall.
In old scriptures from ancient times it is said, that angels were envious on humans. Do they have something angels have not? I can`t fly. I can`t simply transcent time. I can`t simply rape a young girl like Gabriel is said he did. Angels must be somehow limited creatures, different than humans, but limited. Am I supposed to become an angel? To leave my wave character? To refuse to grow old with those I love? And am i supposed to become a highly trained spiritual technician in order to fix whatever ascension? Fuck no!
I`m supposed to be a human with a little heart and a little love. Not big, but in it is the whole universe. And I`m proud of it. With it and a sand grain small knowledge I´ll go into a new year. Let me finally say this: God is not in me, but I am always in Him, and I can nothing do to change that…

Well, this is a pretty powerful interview – if I’m hearing it correctly, Dr. Pieczenik is saying that this actually Was a coup attempt of sorts (he says that the Generals shouldn’t have stood down, and that there have been 14 or so others?). This is actually a good, tempered conversation, not over the top as things so often go. The last time Dr. P was a guest on Alex’s show in Sept there was quite a bit of controversy, and I was happy to hear him back…but they’re definitely choosing words and not flying out over the edge as so often happens on AJ’s shows. If nothing else, listen to the last 5 minutes or so when he describes how the Republic is no longer legitimate (and supports the secession movements?).

I certainly did laugh out loud – almost all the way through it. It was such a relief to read such a comprehensive – I could even say – enlightened view of all that is going on. I too am awaiting Obama to exercise his new freedom to begin sweeping the floor of the rats, bats and other vermin that have had us so controlled and dumbed down.

Its claims are inflated, Its language invites ridicule. There is right wing Christian Fundamentalist bias. Its intention appears to be to bring scorn on NESARA. In fact, the intent of NESARA-News is probably to undermine NESARA by making its supporters sound like illiterate kooks.
