Greetings Everyone from stormy Flagler Beach, Florida! Outside, the winds are howling as the fringe of Hurricane Sandy passes up the East coast of Florida. Do hope that you enjoy these thoughts on the upcoming Full Moon.
With Love and Light,
Taurus Full Moon (Sun in Scorpio) – October 29, 2012
At this Full Moon in Taurus (Sun in Scorpio), the leaves are falling and the nights are becoming longer in the Northern Hemisphere. It is the time of mid-fall and All-Hallows Eve, when the veils between the two worlds are being drawn aside. Regenerative Scorpio represents darkness and death which is followed by transformation and rebirth. Productive Taurus represents light and life, its ruler Venus being the bright morning star, worshipped by the Mayans as the fertility of springtime. We are reminded that nothing is permanent; spring (Taurus) is followed by autumn (Scorpio), youth by old age, life by death and rebirth. Our Scorpio energy knows:
“There is no death, only a change of worlds.” Duwamish Indian proverb
This Full Moon brings light to the dark. It spotlights what we need to see and what we must change and transform. The Sun has moved from diplomatic and peace-loving Libra into truth seeking, introspective Scorpio, the sign most associated with the dark, the hidden, the unknown. No other sign in the zodiac knows more about crisis, change and moving on, as does Scorpio. Hidden motivations, buried fears, old wounds now come into the light for us to see clearly and resolve, personally and collectively. True power comes when we make the unconscious conscious.
“If you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth will save you. If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you.” The Gospel of Thomas
Just as Aries is the initial idea or spark of God, Taurus represents the desire of that spark to manifest in physical form. Vulcan, God of the Forge, is said to preside over Taurus on the esoteric level. He fashions the key that opens the door to our awareness of the true nature of matter…. spirit cloaked in form. The pounding hammer of this blacksmith of the Gods creates chinks in the armor of our material reality with its excessive desires and stubborn attachments. Thus the light of the spirit can penetrate our being, and release us from the prison house of materiality.
Where the Moon at 7 degrees Taurus falls in our charts, we are learning that our possessions, both material and spiritual, are valuable only when they serve the greater good of all. This Full Moon brings a deeper understanding of our role of service. Our Taurus energy knows that:
“God gives us each a song.” Ute Indian proverb
Where the Sun at 7 degrees Scorpio falls in our charts our unresolved attachments, fears and addictions are illuminated for transmutation. The evolutionary intent of our Scorpio energy is akin to the sacred science of alchemy, which is the process of transmuting lead into gold, darkness into light, fear into love. It is time to own our power, live our truth and bring our fears into the light. The Sun in Scorpio spotlights what we need to change and transform.
This is an important time of cleansing and healing. Surreptitious uses of power and control are being exposed on all levels, personally, nationally and globally. This is emphasized by the Sun in Scorpio conjunct Saturn, as well as Saturn and Pluto (ruler of Scorpio) in mutual reception (each transiting the other’s sign) for the next three years. It is a time of reckoning, a time for taking responsibility for our actions and for our use of power.
Our identities, our society and our world now have a golden opportunity to eliminate what is no longer viable in order to grow into something new. The ongoing Pluto-Uranus square urges us to own our power (Pluto) and to think out of the box (Uranus). As we act in the Light, we become agents of planetary evolution to bring Peace on Earth.
The Sabian symbol for the Moon at 7 degrees Taurus: “The woman of Samaria at the ancestral well.”
This refers to the Biblical story of Jesus who lovingly greets an unmarried Samaritan woman, from a tribe despised by the Jews. Being unmarried, she was an outcast of her society, refusing to conform to social pressures. At this crucial time it is vital to follow our principles, to stand in our own power and to encourage others to do likewise.
“The supreme, the most faultless, largest law of action is to find out the truth of your own highest and inmost existence and live in it… and not to follow any external standards.” Mahatma Ghandi
The Sabian symbol for the Sun at 7 degrees Scorpio: “Deep sea divers.”
At this crucial time on Planet Earth it is helpful for us all to be ‘deep sea divers.’ This means always seeing the Divine Plan at work beneath the most challenging situations and events.
“A divine law pervades all life and good comes out of ignorance and darkness… There is a wise and merciful plan for the spiritual growth of men.” White Eagle
