Sissel Kyrkjebø – You Raise Me Up – Live!!

A Reader, N, says: Viewing this video is like taking a “love” shot and bumping out vibrations up. Josh Groban’s accompanying song adds to the beauty. In my opinion these “feel good” videos and beautiful music are wonderful at reducing fear and aiding the ascension process.

Jean posted a beautiful rendition of “Shenandoah” last week and the YouTube video led to my first encounter with a Norwegian soprano Sissel’s singing Shenandoah. Just Beautiful.

Singer: Sissel Kyrkjebo
Rolf Løvland (music), Brendan Graham (lyrics)

When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary;
When troubles come and my heart burdened be;
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence,
Until you come and sit awhile with me.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.

There is no life – no life without its hunger;
Each restless heart beats so imperfectly;
But when you come and I am filled with wonder,
Sometimes, I think I glimpse eternity.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.

  1. I watch her in so many songs and am totally enthralled by her beauty, her voice and the song itself. when she is looking directly into the camera I feel she is singing directly to me and as I watch her I am filled with an immense joy. I play her often, Love her to death.

    I agree with Bill. Thanks for sharing!

    I spent 2 hours last week doing nothing but following YouTube links from one beautiful Sissel rendition of well known songs after another – Amazing Grace, Climb Every Mountain (sound of Music), You Don’t Bring Me Flowers Anymore (Neil Diamond/Barbara Streisand classic). Shenandoah, Bridge Over Troubled Waters – to name just a few. It isn’t just her clear music notes. She sings with love.

    Here’s a beautiful rendition of Going Home

  4. Bill says:

    What a beautiful lady with a beautiful voice! I’ll have to keep this for a while!

    With so much good material and artists like this its sad that we have so much rock-schlock and rap-crap in our media.

    Here are a couple of tunes most will recognize. However, the artists may surprise you.
    Man of La Mancha http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWP7l0OTXJI
    William Tell Overture http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6kBkYyeOto
