I urge all my readers to take time to read this lengthy article by The Saker that asks the tough questions and deals in reality:

A multi-level analysis of the US cruise missile attack on Syria and its consequences

If you’ve read The Saker’s analysis, the suggestion is that China is the only country that has the ability to resolve this ugly situation. This possible resolution may be emerging now. . .

I’m unable to group the stories concerning what China may actually be doing to bring this situation under control in one place, so I’ve noted them with red asterisks, and they all appear near the top of my blog. ***

* * * What Hillary’s Goldman Sachs Speeches Revealed About Changing Tides In The Koreas, Zerohedge

This piece is eye-opening in that Hillary’s words make the US’ plans for the Koreas apparent. Just as Hong Kong has been a thorn in China’s side, so have the Korea’s been a thorn in China’s side, as I think they were both meant to be, and the US has been the cause of these two situations. Unlike this blog article, I do not think China’s efforts are meant to be of mutual benefit with the United States. Consider the following words in light of our present circumstances:

On April 24th, 2016, The Wall Street Journal reported on Xi’s drive to upgrade the military in a politically ambitious plan that would come to fruition by 2020. The shift would end Chinese policies of isolationism that have lasted since the Ming Dynasty in the 15th century and would see China’s military used in theaters such as the Middle East and Africa. The increased investment comes at the same time that Xi replaced the PLA’s vice chairman of the Central Military Commission in March 2017, a move that many observers saw as an effort to clean up corruption and consolidate Beijing’s control of the PLA. Thinking about Trump’s words — that China must take care of North Korea, or the US will,  they now seem pretty foolish and arrogant. Remember, arrogance always involves a huge amount of ignorance, Will the US be outmaneuvered by China? It remains to be seen, but it looks like a good possibility: *** South Korean Paper Reports China Has Deployed 150,000 Troops To North Korea Border, Zerohedge

 * * * China Threatens To Bomb North Korea’s Nuclear Facilities If It Crosses Beijing’s “Bottom Line”, Zerohedge

…But what may be the most notable part of the oped is the mention in the Global Times editorial that North Korea will “not be allowed to have a government that is hostile against China on the other side of the Yalu River.” This implies that if and when the US initiate strikes on NK, the Chinese PLA will likely send out troops “to lay the foundation” for a favorable post-war situation.

In other words, China may be just waiting for Trump to “decapitate” the North Korean regime, to pounce and immediately fill the power vacuum.

Russian military: Syrian army repels terror offensive that took advantage of U.S. strike, kills 150 attackers

“Having taken advantage of the US cruise missile strike on the Shai’rat airbase, used by Syrian aviation for actions near Hama and Palmyra, terrorists launched counter-attacks against government troops from the south-western direction. All their attacks were repelled, two battle tanks, three infantry fighting vehicles and eight trucks with heavy machine-guns, as well as over 150 terrorists were destroyed,” Rudskoi said.

Sott Comment: So aside from the positive Western media response, and the deaths of some dozen or so Syrian troops and civilians, these are the effects of Trump’s attack on the Shai’rat base:

  • the base was back in use a day after the attack (the terrorists won’t like that)
  • Russia promised to beef up Syria’s air defenses (Israel and the U.S. won’t like that)
  • Russia backed out of their deconfliction agreement regarding U.S. air operations over Syria (the U.S. coalition won’t like that)
  • Syria has slapped back the attacks of the terrorists who thought they could take advantage of a moment of weakness (all of the above parties won’t like that)

Draw your own conclusions.

Freudian slip? Sean Spicer says US goal is to destabilize Syria

Turning reality on its head – US & UK accuse Russia of ‘war crimes’ in Syria, by Finian Cunningham

Only days after US President Donald Trump blasted Syria with cruise missiles killing nine civilians, Washington and London are accusing Russia of war crimes. It’s transparent, sordid and absurd.

… It is flagrantly obvious that Washington and London are doubling down on their demands for regime change in Syria and trying to drive a wedge between Moscow and Damascus over trumped-up war crimes charges.

But here is where the absurdity is betrayed. If Russia and Vladimir Putin are guilty of complicity in war crimes in Syria, as the West claims, then how is it that Washington and London are holding out an offer of “working together for peace in Syria”?

If the Western claims of Russian culpability had any substance or conviction, then how would it be legally and morally legitimate to suddenly ignore those “grave crimes” based on Putin’s compliance to their demands for regime change? The logic is riven with disingenuousness and expedience.

… The Americans and their British surrogate must be fools if they think Moscow will be intimidated by their spurious, self-indicting claims about war crimes. The whole appalling mess Syria finds itself in is due entirely to Washington and London consorting with terrorists in a criminal enterprise of aggression for the past six years.

Their tawdry attempts to turn reality on its head are transparent. The American-British double-act of sanctimonious sheriffs upholding international law is more than absurd. It’s obscene.

I wonder if Trump will step back from these potential and un-winable wars. He needs to recognize that the “attack” was bogus and come clean with America. The Syria invasion smells of Israeli “influences”.

Thanks, Captain. To answer your question, IMO, now, I think Trump’s life hasn’t required him to develop any backbone. He’s always dealt with criminal elements, and he’s always been bailed out by themwhen he encountered problems. Thanks for the link to Steve . . . Hugs, ~Jean

I have only read The Saker’s article so far.
As with most of the discussions at this level, it leaves out ET, the SSP or even unacknowledged special access programs. And it ignores the existence of a criminal element which has interleaved itself into all of these governments and agencies. The criminal element, which exists at all levels (up to and including “god”) cannot be easily analyzed because it is crazy – really crazy. But if you leave it out you miss the fact that a lot of these actors are probably calculating their actions so as to not get targeted by the criminals. And that makes their actions look crazy, too.
If someone is going to analyze, then really analyze! Let in some of this other data, even though it’s just as hard or even more difficult to substantiate than “normal” data. Otherwise, we’re basically just gyrating to keep busy, but not getting anywhere.
