Paul Craig Roberts Laments “The Assault On Trump”

We are witnessing an assault by the national security state and its liberal media on a President of the United States that is unprecedented. This is the determination of the national security state to keep their prized “Russian Threat” in its assigned role as the Number One Threat to the US.

Republic, Democracy & the Importance of Self-Governance . . . thought provoking, important reading . . .

What exactly is a Republic? Have you ever even asked this question, or anything close to it? Did you know that a Republic indicates that a Republican form of government is how the government is organized, and from that it is recognized and commonly accepted that the people are Self-Governing in a Republic and thus are, “Free from Things Public,” (Libera Res Publica, or Republic as stated in the Latin). In such a Republic the people are IN their private capacity going about their private business.

A Republican form of government supports and protects the unalienable common rights of the people, who by the way, are the people that make up that very same government. For in a True Republic it is the People who ARE the government, not the people serving in government offices. This is what is truly meant when it is said, a Government of the people, by the people, and for the people.

So then, government is OF the people, and not OF the “Duly Elected” Public Servants that serve in the Public Offices as Servants of the People. These very same Public Servants have been ENTRUSTED with the authority and ordination of the People by Oath to carry out the Will of the People. In no other way is this possible much less, and more importantly Lawful! Therefore, Public Servants are Agents and Servants FOR the Government and are not the Government! So then, not out of disrespect for the sacrifices that one makes to serve in a Public capacity, all Public Servants should never be referred to as “The Government” or being OF Government, or, Government anything. Wherefore, this directly implies that they still in their Private Capacity whilst serving in a Public Office and are using their Private capacity in a Public Office, which is an absolute no-no. If such a thing were done, then this clearly is an indictable offense for conflict of interest at the very least as,  “No man can serve two masters,” applies flawlessly to expose any criminal activities being kept hidden from the All Seeing Eye of the Public. Can you see from this how Public and Private things are not to be commingled? When one is in and of the PUBLIC then they are to be in and of the PUBLIC only. Their private capacity is to be completely and totally separated from their PUBLIC capacity. Again, they are the Servants and Agents FOR the People in a PUBLIC capacity ONLY, and the Private People ARE always the Government, never the agents and servants. . . .

Chinese Media Warns US Social Division Shows “Western Democracy Is Crumbling”

“The US model represents Western democracy, but it is crumbling, and the resulting social division has become more and more serious…”

Despite Sweden dropping rape case against Assange, his treatment remains an outrage . . . unbelievably Orwellian!

‘WikiLeaks staff are in danger’: Pilger, Kiriakou discuss Assange’s ongoing legal battle

“I welcome the Swedish prosecutor’s decision to end its investigation of Julian Assange,” John Kiriakou, a former CIA Counterterrorism Officer and whistleblower told RT. “We should not celebrate yet, however.”

“The governments of the United Kingdom and the United States have plotted against Mr. Assange for the past seven years, trying to silence him for his exposure of their crimes.”

Kiriakou, who was the first to acknowledge the CIA’s use of torture, spoke up because he believed the use of torture was “immoral, unethical and illegal.” He served 30 months for violating the Intelligence Identities Protection Act by confirming the name of an officer involved in the CIA’s secret rendition program, and was released in 2015.

[…]

“What Chelsea [Manning] endured awaits another Courage Foundation beneficiary, Julian Assange, should he step outside the Ecuadorean embassy in London,” investigative journalist John Pilger told RT earlier this week.

“Julian Assange and the WikiLeaks staff are in danger,” Pilger continued. “WikiLeaks has been so successful in informing people all over the world of the surveillance and war state constructed by rapacious power that it is now fulfills the role of free journalism that the corporate media falsely claims for itself.”

“The DOJ [Department of Justice] has been running an unprecedented and wide-ranging investigation into WikiLeaks for its publishing and sourcing work since 2010,” the Courage Foundation explained. “It has involved paid informers, illegal interrogations in Europe and secret search warrants. Recently CIA Director Mike Pompeo called WikiLeaks a ‘hostile intelligence service.’”

Trump visits Saudi Arabia in first official foreign trip amid Yemen & human rights controversies

The US has concluded an arms deal with Saudi Arabia worth $350 billion over 10 years, with $110 billion set to take effect immediately, the White House said Saturday, hailing the deal as “a significant expansion of… [the] security relationship” between the two countries.

‘Sucking up to Saudis is long US tradition, every president does it’ RT, Op-Edge

While the US constantly lectures other countries on human rights, Trump will not raise the subject on his visit to Saudi Arabia, which has one of the worst human rights records, analysts told RT. Arms sales are key to all of this, they added.

Trump’s Saudia Visit is the Start of an Old Game in a New Fashion, by Salman Rafi Sheikh MUST READ

Donald Trump’s up-coming visit to Saudi Arabia is likely to see him granting a de-facto recognition to the Islamic Military Alliance (IMA), or the so-called “Arab Nato.” This, however, is far from a customary recognition, aimed at mending the damage done to the US-Saudia bi-lateral relations during the Obama years. It is, given the Middle East’s regional circumstances whereby the erstwhile dominant “Sunni” powers are facing a resurgent “Shia” Iran, a part of the new strategy the Trump administration is putting in. According to the so-far revealed aspects of the strategy the Trump administration is seeking to deepen its allies’ engagement in the region to counter terrorism and corollary reduce its own direct and long-term military commitments. The document says, “We will seek to avoid costly, large-scale US military interventions to achieve counterterrorism objectives and will increasingly look to partners to share the responsibility for countering terrorist groups.”

While it looks like an implementation of Trump’s “America first” policy, a deeper look would reveal that it is more of a move towards “off-shore balancing” than towards actually reversing the potentially destructive role the US has been playing in the region specifically, and the whole world generally, since at least the end of the Second World War.

[…]

What the new defence deals between Saudi Arabia and the US therefore mean, keeping in mind the objectives laid out in the new strategy document, is nothing but an indirect consent to Saudi Arabia’s destructive wars in the region, particularly in Yemen and Syria.[emphasis added]

Trump visits Bethlehem bearing gifts to child killers, by Finian Cunningham

US President Donald Trump makes his first overseas visit this weekend, beginning in the Middle East and continuing to Europe. His tour to the “holy land” is being presented with feel-good, messianic spin.

Trump touches down first in Saudi Arabia, then will go to Israel and from there make a pilgrimage to Bethlehem in the Palestinian territories. After his stop at the reputed birthplace of Jesus, the American president will then fly to the Vatican, where he will be greeted by Roman Catholic Pope Francis. He will later meet NATO military leaders in Brussels.

Presenting the president’s Middle East itinerary like a momentous religious event, Trump’s senior national security adviser General HR McMaster said: “This trip is truly historic. No president has ever visited the homelands and holy sites of the Jewish, Christian and Muslim faiths all on the same trip. And what President Trump is seeking is to unite peoples of all faiths around a common vision of peace, progress and prosperity.”

The White House, reported the Washington Post, described it as “an effort to unite three of the world’s leading religious faiths in the common cause of fighting terrorism, reining in Iran and unifying the world against intolerance.”

Hold it. Screech the brakes on this Hollywood-type script of Saint Donald saving the world. What utter claptrap.

Israeli intelligence officials furious over Trump’s loose lips

White House officials are touting Trump’s visit to Israel next week as a chance to show U.S. solidarity with its closest Middle East ally after eight years of friction between former President Barack Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

But behind the public display of harmony, Israeli intelligence officers are angry and alarmed over the U.S. president revealing sensitive information in a May 10 meeting in the White House with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and the Russian ambassador to the United States, Sergey Kislyak.

Trump divulged classified information gathered by Israel about specific terrorist plotting by the Islamic State. The information reportedly revealed Islamic State advances in bomb-making that could be used to mask an explosive device inside a laptop, and also referenced the city where the unfolding plot was being hatched.

The details Trump spilled likely came from a source that was also useful on Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and its Hezbollah proxies in Syria and Lebanon, which are much higher priorities for Israel, the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said.

“To the Israelis, ISIS is not that big of a concern,” the defense official said, using an alternate acronym for the Islamic State. “We have a partner that has done us a favor. They went out of their way to support us in a campaign against ISIS, that they have no real skin in.”

Moscow condemns new US-led coalition strike near Syrian al-Tanf ‘illegitimate’

The latest US-led coalition airstrike against Syrian pro-government forces in southern Syria severely violated Syria’s sovereignty and negatively affected the prospects of political settlement in the crisis-torn country, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Friday.

Sott Comment: Finian Cunningham has noted who the US was really protecting:

Syrian sources claim that the latest US air strike was carried out to protect militants being trained by American special forces inside Syrian territory. Those militants, known as Maghaweer al Thawra, are part of the Al Qaeda terror network, according to independent journalist Vanessa Beeley in email correspondence with this author.

Sott Comment: This may be one of the decades long reason for the strike: US attack on Syrian forces: Asserting ‘safe zones’

Mission creep: ‘US & UK forces getting sucked into Syrian hot war’

The presence of British, as well as American forces in Syria, is indisputably illegal under international law; this is an act of aggression no matter what the reason given by the US-led coalition, political commentators told RT.

The US-led coalition carried out a bombing raid against forces fighting for the Syrian government in the south of the country.

The coalition air strike targeting pro-government forces in Syria was unacceptable and violated the country’s sovereignty, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Over 140 killed in Libya after UN-backed govt militia ravages rival military base . . . with a few details, this title becomes very ‘real’:

The attack unfolded Thursday afternoon at Brak Al-Shati airbase, which since December has been under control of the Libyan National Army (LNA), rivaling the government in Tripoli. LNA, headed by General Khalifa Haftar, does not recognize the authority of the GNA and is linked to the rival House of Representatives (HoR), the country’s elected legislature, which operates from the city of Tobruk on Libya’s eastern Mediterranean coast.

The so-called Third Force militia, hailing from the city of Misrata, which is loyal to the UN-backed government of Prime Minister Fayez Al Sarraj, launched an attack on the airbase as the LNA soldiers were returning from a military parade held there. The servicemen were not able to offer much resistance as they were unarmed, LNA spokesman Ahmad Al-Mimari said in a statement on Friday, as cited by AFP.

“Most of them were executed,” Al-Mimari said.

Misrata State Council member Begassem Igzeit called the killings an “irresponsible and heinous crime against Libyans.”

Medical officials at a local hospital said that people killed in the bloodshed died of a variety of causes, having their throats slit by militiamen, succumbing to burns or due to being run over by military vehicles.

[…]

Libya has been divided between the Tobruk-based parliament and the UN-backed government in Tripoli. The power vacuum in the country, which emerged after the disastrous NATO-led military intervention in 2011, has been exploited by militant groups, including Al-Qaeda and Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS, ISIL) offshoots. Those in turn have been lending support to some of the extremist factions within the country.

The new spiral of violence threatens to undermine a fragile peace deal, reached last month between Tobruk and Tripoli authorities in Rome that was brokered by Italy. The deal, hailed as a breakthrough at a time, brought hope of a political solution to the bloody conflict, which has also been playing a major role in fueling the ongoing refugee crisis gripping Europe.

Rouhani Re-elected Iran President In Landslide Victory

Iran’s moderate leader Rouhani secured a second term with a landslide victory in Friday’s presidential election, winning 57% of the vote and giving a decisive victory to pro-reform groups eager to open up the Islamic republic and re-engage with the outside world, Reuters reported. Rouhani’s hardline opponent, senior cleric Ebrahim Raisi who was running for office for the first time, a protege of Iran’s Supreme Leader and the custodian of a religious charity worth tens of billions, came in second with 38.5%.

Venezuelan general pushes for snipers to control demonstrators

Javier Farje, a Latin America affairs expert, believes the meddling of the United States in Venezuela has become “open and shameless,” saying that Washington is seeking to topple the government of President Nicolas Maduro.

“Since 2009 the US has devoted USD 49 million support [to] the opposition. They have used the Organization of American States (OAS) in order to condemn Venezuela … We must not forget that the US, since the failed coup of 2002, has been trying to undermine the Venezuelan government … and ever since they have tried to bring down the government of Venezuela,” Farje told Press TV in an interview on Saturday.

Unprecedented corruption among Brazil’s top politicians revealed in unsealed JBS plea bargain testimony

Recall that behind the latest political scandal to grip Brazil, in which president Michel Temer was accused of paying hush money to the jailed former House speaker, Eduardo Cunha (who was responsible for the impeachment of Temer’s predecessor Dilma Rouseff) to keep him from dragging Temer down as well, and which yesterday led to historic losses for the the Bovespa, was a plea bargain by the top executives of Brazil’s meatpacking giant JBS, Joseley Batista and his brother Wesley, which among other things, included an alleged recording of a phone conversation in which Batista told Temer he was paying Cunha to remain silent, to which the president was recorded saying, “You need to keep that up, okay?

Moments ago, Brazil’s O Globo newspaper reported that the latest episode in Brazil’s epic political corruption saga has been unveiled, and two things emerged. First, president Temer is under now officially under investigation for corruption and obstruction of justice.

Note: To be clear, I do not think Trump is ‘guilty’ and therefore should be impeached. I do think, however, that he is simply working with a different branch of the factions seeking to the control the planet. I receive many Newsletters from both sides of the fence, and mostly they are going crazy to impeach Trump, and I wonder if they realize if they continue on this path they are going to bring our government to a place of total dysfunction. Yet, maybe this is what is needed?

As I have also read the many posts about Trump’s Mid-East visit, I feel I must say that it is clear he intends to continue the US aggressive wars there, one way or the other. No one can tell me he really wants to do what is right, or that he has been taken over by the dark interests. Trump’s history, IMO, makes it clear that to begin with he is weak and has very few morals. Why now, with the pressure on him, would he change?

Regarding the Republic and self governance, this is important for people to know and understand their own soverinty. Putting it into practice on a daily living basis is not easy though. Many groups have tried to re-establish the Republic and had their efforts ignored or discredited. Some have been imprisoned, terrorized or killed. Sadly, there seems to be no effective enforcement for those trying to claim their rights.

    • Jean says:

Jann, I hear exactly what you are saying. If enough people wake up, so that enforcement might be seen as something more than crating more chaos, I think we will have enforcement. 🙂 Spread the word Hugs, ~Jean

For me the news is the weather. It’s real and it’s odd.
Is this part of a normal and expected cycle as some climate scientists seem to be concluding, or some sort of “weather war?” I wonder if anyone knows what the real cause is.

    • Jean says:

Larry, I’ve mentioned once before in a response to a comment of yours that there is a book that will answer many of your questions, but so far you haven’t wanted to take the red pill 🙂

There isn’t much more I can say.

Here is the link, and it is the article I wrote, a book review if you will.

      Hugs,

      • lecox says:

Jean, I know all about the red pill. I really do. I chose one many years ago, and that’s why I am commenting on your blog today. Most of my questions are rhetorical; I already know the answers to them. I guess our red pills are different. But I wouldn’t accuse anyone who bothers to visit your blog of taking the blue pill.

        • Jean says:

I”m sorry, but then I can’t begin to comment in response to your words. As I see it, I’ve provided some good answers, and rather than respond —negatively or positively – you continue to ask rhetorical questions about these issues, like they have never been presented here. Your choice 🙂 Hugs, ~Jean

          • lecox says:

I am here to invite people to look beyond the “alternative” information they are used to seeing and including the information that I sometimes refer to that I have studied. I’d just like someone else to discuss it with, really.

          • Jean says:

            🙂 Understood . . . Hugs, ~Jean

Trump is an asset of Israel jean

All politics is local and it’s time to ignor the American federal government and work from the bottom up to affect its eventual replacement.

America still has a dynamic and free economy in many areas with much peace and prosperity and I should know as I live in such an area.

My children are rising stars in our fine local community and I advise them to ignor what is thousands of miles away and to concentrate on what one can control.

We shall overcome this one community at a time as I see that this is the way to go.

    Much lov

I believe that TRUMP is not the villain, it is so dam obvious that the dark controllers are trying everything to get him out, it is soooooooo obvious… pathetic and evil.

    • Jean says:

Jane, I agree with you, but I must say that according to all the news, the sales of weapons to Saudi Arabia and his connections to organized crime that are public information, he is a villian, another one. Hugs, ~Jean 🙂

      • jane says:

Yes Jean I see what you mean, and I agree he is no saint and selling Arms shows that he is not in the good camp, its like he is a renegade villain, so the cabal and Elite cannot control him, however he is doing his own thing, and it seems to me like putting a child in charge of a country, very dangerous. what do I know!

        • Jean says:

Jane, I’m sorry, but I can’t quite agree with you. I think he is not doing his own thing. . . the moves he is making I’ll bet any amount of money 🙂 are orchestrated by Mr. Henry Kissinger! He may have hoped to do things differently, but I think he’s since learned it isn’t going to happen, and he’d better play their game in their way. A man whose morals are obviously lacking, I don’t think he found it difficult to give up any original ideas he might have had.

          Hugs,
          ~Jean
