Russian UN envoy drops truth bomb: US ‘brings global chaos’ & ‘has no real friends’

Nebenzya

© Brendan McDermid / Reuters

Russian Ambassador to the United Nations Vasily Nebenzya.

Russia has warned the US and its allies against “fishing in murky waters” of the Middle East, causing further chaos there. The US shouldn’t assume it has friends, only countries unable to disagree, UN envoy Vassily Nebenzia said.

The US and its allies have failed to understand the warning of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s words at the 2015 UN General Assembly, ambassador Nebenzia told the Security Council on Monday.

“Do you now understand what you have done?” Nebenzia repeated Putin’s question about the West’s reckless geopolitical games in the Middle East. “No, you do not.”

“Everywhere you go, everything you touch, you leave behind only chaos. You try to fish in those murky waters, but the only thing you catch is mutants,” Nebenzia went on to say.

After challenging the narrative of a chemical attack in the suburban Damascus city of Douma as “fake news” – as no evidence was found of the alleged attack or the victims, after Syrian and Russian troops inspected the area liberated from Army of Islam militants – Nebenzia turned to the remarks made earlier by his US counterpart, Nikki Haley, who said that US and Russia “will never be friends.”

“We’re not particularly keen to be friends with you,” the Russian envoy replied. “We’re not begging you for friendship. We want normal, civilized relations – which you arrogantly refuse, disregarding basic courtesy.”

“You are misguided to think you have friends,” Nebenzia cautioned. “Your so-called friends are just those who can’t say no to you. This is your only criteria for friendship.”

The Russian envoy closed his address to the Security Council with a warning that an unauthorized military attack on Syria, where Russian troops are legally deployed, would have “grave consequences.”

“What [the] military misadventures of the West bring about is well known, as shown by the examples of Yugoslavia, Iraq and Libya. Nobody has vested you with the power to act like the world’s policeman, or to act like the prosecutor, judge, and executioner either,” he said.

BREAKING: Defining Moment for Putin: Stand up to US/Israel Empire of Chaos, or Fold? by

Comment: I’m thinking that this is the sort of response to Empire that good people like Paul Craig Roberts think Putin should make, but I disagree. Please read this article carefully, because I think mankind, itself, is being tested here. We are being tested individually, each one of us. Will we make the cut?

Putin is a brilliant tactician, and surely he has considered such a response as this writer suggests, but it seems obvious that very deliberately Putin has not chosen such a pathway.

Why?

Here, for your consideration, is my thinking on the matter —  and this is not the first time I have shared these thoughts: Putin is aware of the paradigm shift we are in, and I do not believe that he views Russia, or Russia/China/Iran, or some group of nations as becoming the ‘new boss’ in town, which is what a response like this would surely mean. Humanity would make no leap forward, since on some level the lying, stealing, murdering — chaos will continue, and he does not want Russia and his people to continue to confront it and to live in such a world. If the heads of nations – and their people, that’s us — refuse, however, to stand up for a new way of doing business in the world, we simply are not going to make the paradigm shift.

I believe that Putin fully understands this — and is waiting for us to realize this fact and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. He has waited and allowed the West to expose itself for what it really is, so that we can surely understand what is going on and be held responsible for what is to come — not just Russia. What way forward will we all choose?

This shift is based on the fact that we all need to grow up and assume responsibility for what happens here on our planetWhy should someone save us, when with a little effort on our parts, we can save ourselves — and reap the empowering benefits that come from such strong actions?

Will we take the time to read/study/learn enough to know for ourselves what we believe about the times we are in? This takes real effort on our parts, and you won’t be able to fudge on the coming exam — not this one. At times like this I remember these words, “God helps those who help themselves.”

Xi said it best in his recent statement about the trade wars:

In his first public remarks since the beginning of the tariff dispute with the United States, the president of China has issued a veiled warning to US President Donald Trump with a promise to lower levies.

Speaking at the Boao Forum for Asia, the Chinese leader called on other countries to refrain from “seeking dominance” and “reject power politics.” He added that “arrogance… will get [you] nowhere.”

“The Cold War and zero-sum mentality looks out of place in today’s world. Arrogance or only focusing [on] one’s own interests will get nowhere. Only peaceful development and cooperation can truly bring win-win or all-win results,” said Xi Jinping. [emphasis added]

Hugs,

New anti-Russian sanctions, Russian financial markets in meltdown, a tumbling ruble, Western threats to bomb Syrian forces and its backers in Syria, the Skripal false flag – what’s happening?

Welcome to the fourth presidential mandate, mister Putin! All these actions are part of the carefully planned campaign that serves as the welcoming package for most likely the last presidential mandate of the Russian president.

The West is basically sending a clear message to the Russian president. You will have six years of constant crises and hell. We will make sure you don’t have one peaceful day. And sorry, there is no way you will have time to focus on Russia’s inner problems and domestic issues as promised during your presidential campaign.

It will also be tough times for the Russian economy. However, Russians should realize that having 20K rubles (300 dollars) salary is better than having 20 million dead people like in WW2. This is a small price to pay for being one of the last sovereign nations left in the world. In the long term, it is better to cut Russian dependency on Western technology, imports and markets.

Russia needs to take several resolute steps that will inflict significant costs on Washington and its Western vassals:

  • ECONOMIC MEASURES: Ban all major American companies in Russia, that can be easily substituted with Russian equivalents.
    • All McDonalds, Burger Kings, Pizza Huts, and Starbucks should be banned. These measures will not hurt the Russian economy that much as Russia already has its own fast food franchises.
    • Ban American software companies in Russia. There are bunch of Russian software companies that can replace American products.
    • Block Google, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Russia already has strong equivalents that suppress Western competition and are dominant on the Russian market –  Yandex, Vkontakte, Odnoklassniki etc. Basically, Russia should create an independent information space the same way China did.
    • Russia should also stop buying Boeing airplanes or any other American manufacturing technology and stop selling Russian rocket engines to NASA.
  • FINANCIAL MEASURES: Start DUMPING dollars and all international trade with dollars.  Request for international trading partners to facilitate trade in any currency except the  American dollar.
  • POLITICAL AND MILITARY MEASURES:

Most critically, Russia should start waging proxy wars against America, the same way the U.S. is waging a proxy war against Russia in Ukraine by supporting the anti-Russia regime in Kiev and arming fascist militias in Donbas that are killing the ethnic Russian population. Russia should seriously consider arming the Taliban in Afghanistan, Hezbollah in Lebanon, help Iran to modernize its military, sell them S-400s and facilitate joint military technology projects. Basically, Russia should prop us all nations and organizations considered by the Americans as their enemies. This will really hurt Washington. This is the only appropriate and proper reaction to Washington’s foreign policy. The enemy of my enemy is my friend – Russia should embrace the basics of a realistic foreign policy. The US neocons only understand the language of force and specific measures, it’s not a time for good arguments, dialogue or discussion.

Russian FM Lavrov just stated that negotiations on Korean peninsula situation should result in the nuclear disarmament of the region. Why is Russia so eager to denuclearize Korean peninsula? It is not of vital interest to Russia. Maybe Russia should make North Korea an ally and start arming North Korea even further. Why help out America with neutralizing the Korean threat? Maybe they should help North Korea develop an even more deadly missile. This way neocons will think twice before lashing out at Russia.

  • RECONSIDER RELATIONSHIP WITH ISRAEL: Russia must reconsider its current relationship with Israel because it is wrong for so many reasons, not least because it sends mixed messages to Russian allies in the Middle East.

First steps are already taken; Israel’s ambassador has been summoned to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. But they should be doing much more than this. The whole current crises is a consequence of Israel’s desire to prop up controlled chaos in Syria for decades to come and Russia being silent when it comes to Tel Aviv’s constant air attacks against Syria.

Why is Russia keeping silent when Israel bombs Syria, but threatens the US when it says it wants to do the same? Where’s the logic? Why can Israel do it and the US, as a world’s first superpower, cannot? If Russia is not ready to retaliate against Israel, why do they claim that they are ready to retaliate against the US? It makes no sense. Therefore, Russian should not give Israel a free pass and should impose a similar set of economic and political sanctions as in the case of the U.S.

In any case, Russia should make clear to Israel that in case of Russian-American global war, Israel will be one of the first to be wiped out with the help of the Russian nukes. This will make them think twice before instigating a global conflict against Russia.

CONCLUSION

To conclude, instead of whining and crying about illegal, illegitimate Western actions that are not in accordance with international law, Russia and Putin should take serious and concrete steps to stop them.

It is time for old echelon of Russia’s leading politicians to retire. Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Lavrov already hinted that he wants to retire after decades of tireless and, in certain moments, brilliant service to Russia. I think Putin should let him retire and find a new, young, energetic, nationalistic FM who will first of all stop calling Western countries partners as Lavrov does on every occasion. A bully only understands a bully language and actions.

Dmitry Medvedev, current Russian Prime Minister, has been invisible for years, basically a dead man walking. The man who will go down the history as a person who allowed the West to bomb Gadhafi by not vetoing a UN resolution call for a no fly zone over Libya. Other Russian liberals should be gone also and economic and financial policy should be more nationalistic and protectionist.

President Putin is currently being too soft on too many issues. He still talks about “western partners”. Even former Israeli intel boss Yakov Kedmi thinks he should be tougher to the neocon bullies. Russia needs someone with a bit of Zhirinovsky’s manners in Russian foreign policy, especially at this very moment.

Thus, in this critical moment for the mankind, having in mind that all Western MSM are completely ignoring the danger of having WW3, Putin should go on live TV, make a breaking statement and explain to Russian citizens, and most importantly to the world, that the whole planet is on the brink of World War Three.

And finally, Russia needs to understand that this has nothing to do with Assad, Syria or even the Middle East. It has everything to do with Russia. Israel and the U.S. decided it is perfect time to inflict a humiliating defeat on Russia in Syria and take them out of this complex equation.

If Russia does nothing and hides under the table while whining and protesting against illegal American, British, French and Israelis strikes against Syrian people, it will be the ultimate defeat and humiliation for Russia and Putin. No one will want to be a Russian ally anymore, even though lots of countries are not in line to become one, to be honest.  This will be geopolitical defeat of gigantic intensity and in that case it is better that the Russians leave Syria than further humiliate themselves.

Backing down just avoids the inevitable – eventually world peace will depend on nations challenging U.S. global hegemony. Russia, foremost, stands up to the US/Israel in Syria towards the beginning of the piece.

President Putin, it is your call. Either you will go into history as the greatest Russian statesmen who ever lived under the sun or as Ivan the Terrible 2.0 whose prosperous first stage of the rule ended up in ultimate chaos, disintegration and “troubled times” in Russia.

Godspeed to you, Vladimir Vladimirovich! The destiny of Russia and the mankind is in your hands.

Paul Craig Roberts: On the threshold of war – US escalates tension in Syria, Russia vows to retaliate to any attacks

putin military

“The Russian view is simple: the West is ruled by a gang of thugs supported by an infinitely lying and hypocritical media while the general public in the West has been hopelessly zombified.” – The Saker, Russia Is Ready for War — Mood on Prime-Time TV Is Grim

“The US generals, unlike the US politicians and media and US administration, are risk-averse if the outcome may be catastrophic.” – Gilbert Doctorow, We’re Not Going to War, Not Yet – Last Night’s Russian TV Analysis

Above are two of the three most intelligent and reliable Russian experts. The third is Professor Stephen Cohen, who worries, as I do, that an arrogant Washington drowning in hubris is provoking Russia to war.

The Saker has concluded that the Russians have concluded that it has been a mistake to put up with Washington’s lies, insults, and orchestrated events and have decided that if the dumbshit Americans attack Syria, Russia is going to take out the US forces involved.

Doctorow has concluded that as dumbshit as Washington is, the US Joint Chiefs of Staff have more sense and will not go along with an attack on a Russian ally.

I hope that Doctorow is correct. However, with that crazed demented warmonger John Bolton sitting in the White House next to Trump, who enjoys the role of tough guy, I am more scared by The Saker’s reading than I am reassured by Doctorow’s.

There are reports, the validity of which I cannot confirm at this time, that the entirety of the Russian military has been put on high alert, not merely the Russian forces in Syria. See for example: Russia suddenly puts troops on full combat alert

Nikki Haley’s threats against Russia today in the UN do not support Doctorow’s hopes that reason will prevail in Washington. The crazed bitch said that the US will act against the “monster” Assad with or without the UN.

Comment: Then again, “the crazed bitch” says crazy things like that all the time.

Tough man Trump, sitting next to the crazed warmonger Bolton, declared that the alleged chemical attack in Syria “will be met and it will be met forcefully. We can’t let atrocities like we all witnessed… we can’t let that happen in our world, especially because of the power of the US, we are able to stop it.”

There was NO chemical attack by Syria. I know that for an absolute 100% fact. I would bet my life on it. Yet here is the US president declaring a total non-fact to be something “we all witnessed.” Little wonder that the Russians have concluded that the West is ruled by a gang of thugs supported by an infinitely lying and hypocritical media while the general public in the West has been hopelessly zombified.

If Doctorow is not correct that a sane US Joint Chiefs of Staff will prevail over the crazed President and his National Security Adviser, we are headed for war.

It is a war that the US will not win.

Notice, dear readers, that there is no mention of this pending crisis in the Western media. Instead the media whether CNN or the BBC has as the lead news story the FBI’s raid on Trump’s lawyer.

Insouciant Americans is too mild, isn’t it. Clueless is the correct word.

UPDATE

There is no longer any doubt that the criminally insane government in Washington is driving the world to the last war.

UPDATE:

As Americans we must face the possibility that we have a criminally insane government in Washington that is leading the world to destruction.

A Russian Government Press Release:

False information is being planted about the alleged use of chlorine and other toxic agents by the Syrian government forces. The latest fake news about a chemical attack on Douma was reported yesterday. These reports are again referenced to the notorious White Helmets, which have been proved more than once to be working hand in glove with the terrorists, as well as to other pseudo-humanitarian organisations headquartered in the UK and the US.

We recently warned of the possibility of such dangerous provocations. The goal of these absolutely unsubstantiated lies is to protect the terrorists and the irreconcilable radical opposition that has rejected a political settlement, as well as to justify the possible use of force by external actors.

We have to say once again that military interference in Syria, where Russian forces have been deployed at the request of the legitimate government, under contrived and false pretexts is absolutely unacceptable and can lead to very grave consequences.

This is John Helmer’s interpretation of the warning:

“WHEN THE RULE OF LAW WAS DESTROYED IN SALISBURY, LONDON AND THE HAGUE, AND THE RULE OF FRAUD DECLARED IN WASHINGTON, THAT LEAVES ONLY THE RULE OF FORCE IN THE WORLD. THE STAVKA [the high command of the Russian armed forces] MET IN MOSCOW ON GOOD FRIDAY AND IS READY. THE FOREIGN MINISTRY ANNOUNCED ON SUNDAY “THE GRAVEST CONSEQUENCES”. THIS MEANS ONE AMERICAN SHOT AT A RUSSIAN SOLDIER, THEN WE ARE AT WAR. NOT INFOWAR, NOT CYBERWAR, NOT ECONOMIC WAR, NOT PROXY WAR. WORLD WAR.

I hope that the situation is not this severe.

Comment: The Russian Duma defense chief is not mincing his words, either:

The head of the Duma defense committee and former commander of Russian airborne troops has said Moscow would take all measures, including military ones, in response to a possible US strike on government forces in Syria.

“The double standard policy has overstepped all possible boundaries. At this point, the [pro-Putin parliamentary majority] United Russia party must responsibly state that we are going to take all political and diplomatic measures, and also military measures if such need arises,” Vladimir Shamanov said on Tuesday before the State Duma plenary session. “Not a single unlawful action will be left without response,” he added.

The Russian general noted that Americans “should not pin hope on their Navy groups and on their fakes.” “We are a sovereign country, we have allies and guarantors of the events that are taking place in Syria,” he said.

China warns US against ‘arrogance’ amid trade standoff [Note: if you haven’t read F. William Engdahl’s artice on this topic, it will open your eyes to the ‘real’ truth of what is going on: Trump China Trade War Has Deeper Agenda, by F. William Engdahl]

George Webb’s first post today says it all:

If you listened to the UNSC meeting yesterday, it is obvious that the case for the United States going to war doesn’t have a leg to stand on. It seems they need a war to cover up their crimes! Will we be suckered one more time into giving it to them.

Here is another article today: UN says it is unable to ‘independently verify allegations’ of alleged chem attack in Douma

I’m reminded of the Bundy Standoff, where we did put a stop to what they were trying to do to us.

Today, I suggest we remember the Bundys. We cannot allow a war against Assad to go forward!!!

There is more than enough news today, but it doesn’t seem important when we consider what is at stake for the entire world.

This is a big deal and a strong signal aimed at Trump as he mulls an attack on Syria. If he does it, he will face devastating criticism from his base.

Interesting that Carlson doesn’t mention the most obvious reason not to attack Syria, – the fact that Russia has said that it will definitely respond, i.e., attack US forces in response, starting a hot war between them that could very likely turn into WW3 very quickly. . . . Late on Monday we reported that US Navy Destroyer, USS Donald Cook (DDG-75), equipped with Tomahawk cruise missiles, as well as the Aegis missile defence system, was approaching the port of Tartus in Syria, which doubles as the location for the Syrian logistics base of the Russian Navy. According to CNN Turk, the US destroyer was at at a distance of 100 km from the port, as of Monday.

The destroyer, which left the Cypriot port of Larnaka and was headed for the Syrian shore, was reportedly buzzed by Russian warplanes which circled above the US warship four times.

  1. Hi Jean, It’s been a while since I’ve checked in with you! I’ve changed email addresses and had to create a new WordPress. Hoping this works. The world feels Mad on global and local levels. So much fighting to go backwards! Trans-logic seems to be the new language that people speak without realizing they have no content. Only emotions. Interesting times indeed!
